Lock Likes Tennessee
2015 standout Drew Lock made the trek from Lee's Summit (MO) to Knoxville this week for an unofficial visit to Tennessee. The 6-foot-4, 175-pound quarterback came away impressed with what he saw from the Vols. "It was pretty amazing actually," Lock said, a smile on his face. "The facilities were amazing, and the coaching staff was very nice. I was introduced to basically every part of the staff, from weight room to the academic staff." Lock is gaining steam as one of the top passers in the midlands for 2015. Holding a pair of offers from Louisville and Missouri, he's also hearing from Arkansas, Florida, Michigan State, Notre Dame, and Stanford. With four member schools showing interest, the talented junior is already imagining what it would be like to play in the SEC. "Yeah, that would be an awesome thing to be able to say you did," he said, nodding his head. "Considering that is the greatest conference in college football." Lock was quick to point out what impressed him the most about Tennessee. "Definitely their field," he said, pausing for a moment. "It was breathtaking, taking the first step onto the field. Just everything that has been re-done or renovated, like the dorms where I would be staying my first two years there were phenomenal. The indoor field was great, too." Lock threw for 1,200 yards and 15 touchdowns as a sophomore. A big, rangy QB with good athleticism, he is also a standout basketball player at Lee's Summit and on the AAU circuit. He has expressed an interest in playing two sports in college, and Missouri has offered him in both. Asked if Tennessee is recruiting him on the hardwood, Lock said no. "As of right now, they have shown no interest."
