Inside the Locker Room: Baylor

SAN ANTONIO, Tex. - The NCAA presents a full transcript of Baylor thletes from the locker room on Thursday...

Isaiah Austin, C., So.

On being anxious to play …
"We woke up this morning hoping is was Friday. We're ready to play. We're going to go out there for our shoot-around, be focused, and we'll be ready to grind tomorrow"

On the pressure of being the higher seed …
"We [Baylor] don't want to be anybody's first victim. We have a lot of pride and we don't want to lose. They don't want to lose, either, so they are going to come out and give it their all."

On their confidence level …
"We have a high level of confidence right now. We're playing great together. We're getting defensive stops. We're hitting big shots. We feel good right now."

Ricardo Gathers, F., So.

On his emergence in the last five or six games …
"It's just about stepping up and doing what I can to help the team. Both on defense and offense, it's just doing what I can to help the team win."

On their backcourt being called soft compared to the Big 10 …
"[The Big 12] is definitely just as physical. I feel like we're one of the tougher teams to come out of the Big 12. We're just looking forward to getting out there and playing. A team like Nebraska hasn't faced a whole lot of zone…barely any at all in the Big 10…so we expect to give them problems. They can take that as soft if they want, but it's only soft until you play against it."

Royce O'Neale, F., Jr.

On his emergence in the last five or six games …
"It's just about stepping up and doing what I can to help the team. Both on defense and offense, it's just doing what I can to help the team win."

On the national media attention and the doubters …
"A lot of people count [Nebraska] as beating us in the first round. We just have to go out there and prove what we can do."

On the doubters being a motivator …
"Of course. Just being in the tournament motivates us a lot. The first game is always the toughest and we just have to be focused from the jump."

Taurean Prince, F., So.

On coming home to San Antonio …
"It's a comfortable feeling. Nice weather here, too. Everybody is congratulating me on being here, but it's not about me. We're ready as a team."

On the team playing so close to home (Waco) …
"Yeah. We plan on having some fans here…more than at the Big 12 tournament. That's the advantage of being so close to Waco. Hopefully they'll make their way down here."

On a tough finish to the season with three games in four nights …
"When you have a deep team like we do, you can go to anybody on the bench. There are eight to nine players you have to have confidence in. Everybody comes to play every night. We know what we are there for."

On getting rolling at the right time …
"Perfect timing. Great timing. We feel good…we've won 10 out of the last 12 coming into the NCAA tournament."

On how much fun it is to play at the AT&T Center …
"I don't know how much fun it is right now. I know I'm excited, but we'll see once the game gets started."

On their expectations in the tournament …
"We always expect to win. That's the mindset with come in with for every game. We need to get stops on defense. We know we can score."
